Big Business controls a lot of health practices. Consider how often you see an independent optometrist these days – can they compete on price with the multinational chains?</li>
<li><strong>Legal Issues:</strong> In Australia (unlike the USA where things are very different), podiatrists very, very rarely face litigation . LCD, standing for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two top projector imaging technologies. With so many company brands and different models available, it can be overwhelming for clients to pick between those technologies. It comes down to the fact that LCD projectors have better image quality and colour accuracy. The following article will tell you why DLP projectors struggle with bringing up an equal standard of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your household over your bedroom window. By a twist of a rod you can make the shutters open or closed, depending on if you want to let light in or not. And that is exactly how an LCD projector behaves. Each pixel works like an individual shutter on a set of blinds to either send light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is constructed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as experts like to call them. Each pixel element functions to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the time the projector turns on to when the image reaches your screen is extremely important for image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors process white light from the lamp by dividing it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which send the coloured light to 3 stand alone LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels cast the elements of the image by turning each pixel on and off. The pixels are then simultaneously processed in a glass prism to deliver the projector image. An important point to understad about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your projector screen all at the same time. The way a DLP projector works is vastly different and even how an image shows up is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is directed through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This approach to forming an image requires a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are sent in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eye will then draw each coloured element of the image into a complete image. With LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to offer the best brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at a time, causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some developers have added a white segment into the colour wheel to improve all over brightness, but this then lessens colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I find in forums all the time that DLP provides a higher contrast ratio and therefore must be better. For those unsure, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of producing. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications as compared to the majority of LCD projectors. Initially, this appears to be a plus, however, in reality, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is utilised. Do not be tricked by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to project includes moving images, DLP projection technology can also create image errors, or ‘artifacts’. The most often seen artifact that a DLP projector shows with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is inherent in DLP systems because moving images change position between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this disadvantage because every colour is processed at once. DLP manufacturers have formed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to solve the colour break up artifacts, but the price tag of these projectors make them impractical for most businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another differentiation between LCD and DLP is how they make up for the refractive qualities of light. Remember back to high school science, and remember how the different colours of light refract differing amounts when projected through the same lens. The downside with DLP projectors is that they utilise the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously different and refract light in different ways. Usually with a DLP projector, an extra yellow colour will come through above and some extra blue will be projected below an image of something as simple as a straight black line. During manufacturing LCD projectors can be fixed to minimize these effects on the projected image, because each colour is refracted on a separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The sole veritable plus (excluding price) with picking a DLP projector is its smaller overall size and weight. However, this is only relevant to portability and has to be traded off against the image advantages of LCD projectors. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch rose to dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht was a pleasure craft used first by royalty and later by the burghers in the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing yachts was incidental, coming out of private matches. English yachting started with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his restoration to the English royalty in 1660, the city of Amsterdam sent him a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he called Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, reigned 1685–88), built more yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and the same way back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting became classy with the wealthy and aristocracy, but after that period the fashion did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht club in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard group, and had great naval panoply and gravity. The closest thing to racing boats was the “chase,” when the “fleet” pursued an imaginary enemy. The club endured, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, after conglomerating with other groups, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was first seen in some organized method on the Thames around the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to the throne in 1820, it was then known as the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded following a racing fight, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht club had been initiated at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal sponsorship made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the perpetual setting of British yacht racing. The organisation at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, also at the rise of George IV. All members were required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing matches for great bids were held, and the social life was lovely. Eventually Royal Yachting Club boats were raised in size to bigger than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and went on when the English gained power. Sailing was mostly for fun and rose to its apogee in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which sailed on the Mediterranean Sea and established a benchmark of luxury and elegance for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht group, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens instigated the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>Early sailing yachts followed the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the later half of the 19th century. The design of large yachts was initially heavily put upon by the win of America, which was designed by George Steers for a group headed by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) was named after its victory at Cowes in 1851. Earlier yachts were not designed and built in a contemporary sense, with just a model used. Not until the latter half of the 19th century did what was called naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the application of the research of aerodynamics do for the structure of sails and rigging what such study had already done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because almost all sailboats had to be individually custom-built, there arose a need for handicapping boats before the one-design class boats were built. Thus, a rating rule was decreed, which ended up in the International Rule, adopted in 1906 and revised in 1919. In the present day, one of the rapidly blossoming areas in the sailing industry is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are created to standard dimensions in length, beam, sail area, and other areas (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for these boats can be held on an even par with no handicapping necessary. A great example is the standard International America&#8217;s Cup Class adopted for participants in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>So long as yachting was done largely for the royal and the affluent, money was no problem, and the size of boats developed, in both length and weight. The ascendancy and popularity of smaller yachts occurred in the second half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) sailed single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray proved the seaworthiness of smaller craft. Later in the 20th century, notably after World War II, smaller racing and leisure yachts became more common, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, craft of less than 3 m were setting sail single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, when steam began to take the place of sail power in commercial vessels, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were used increasingly in personal yachts. Sizeable power yachts were furthered to a high standard, and long-distance sailing turned into a fond occupation of the wealthy. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; they then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller sort of propulsion. Like naval and merchant yachts, auxiliaries possessing both sail and power were the yacht fashion for many years. By the latter half of the 20th century, many yachts were still auxiliaries, but the large part were solely power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>During the last decade of the 19th century there was a rise in the design of more sizeable steam yachts. Conspicuous within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, containing triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was operated by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, purchased by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service for World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more dependable internal-combustion engines were produced, many big yachts were using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, with heavy oil for fuel, advanced in World War I. From the decade following, large power-yacht manufacture blossomed, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. During that point the best auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The building of larger power boats declined in 1932, and the trend from then was for smaller, less pricey boats. Following World War II, a lot of small naval boats were sold to private owners for conversion to yachts. By the late 20th century, yachting had become a internationally popular competition enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen individually owning and maintaining their own small pleasure boats. <p>Income measured over a given period may not necessarily give the most suitable measure of taxpaying ability. For example, transitory rises in income can be saved, and within temporary declines in income a taxpayer might select to provide for consumption by reducing savings. Therefore, if taxation is made comparable along with “permanent income,” it would be less regressive (or more progressive) than when made comparable with annual income.</p>

<p>Average income tax rates show the percentage of total income that is paid in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is necessary for judging the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates commonly grow with income, both because personal allowances are allowed for the taxpayer and dependents and also because marginal tax rates are graduated; conversely, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households can dwarf these effects, producing regressivity, as shown by average tax rates that decline as income increases.</p>
